Best methods for....

Two things.

1. What is the best way to get rid of hazing/oxidation on headlight lenses?

2. Name some good products and methods to get the most out of black paint.

To get the lenses back where they should be, you're going to get out of the project what you put into it. To do it properly, they should be removed from the car (to prevent sanding something you don't want to, and for better control of the surface you are working with) and then wetsanded starting at about 800 grit, and work up to 2000. Then polish using a fine cut polishing compound, and wax if you want. Done and like new.

Oh and for the paint. Clay it, polish it, wax it. Autopia.org

Dang. you beat me

1. if they're really bad, wet sand them in stages, then buff and polish them. They'll come out like brand new. (check out pics below)

2. To each their own. Everyone will have a preference, and will surely comment on what works for them. I have had really good luck with anything Meguires, or any kind of Carnuba wax.

The headlights aren't bad. Just the top of them and only about the 3/4 inch that is sticking out from under the hood. As for the paint. I have a 3 step meguiars system that I have used forever, but I have never owned a black car before. I had initially washed it, and used this system, and a week later I can see swirl marks again and it looks like shit.
