I don't have a '93 book, so he could use those pinouts from you.

If you look at the back of the electrical section (usually 8A) you'll see sketches of harness connector faces. Look for harness # C100, it will have all wiring listed below it. That's the info he'll need.

finally, some progress can take place... oh wait, i have to wait for the engine harness side now... damnit i hate not being all-knowing...

well, to start, you could always compare wire colors and locations on your new harness to the diagrams above.

colors wouldn't be too hard to manage, but by location do you mean the pins on the 4 connections to the PCM? if so, i would need a diagram for that as well..................................that haynes manual is worthless

looked at the c100 i have off of the GP. 18 colors match:

d3

d4

d5F

e2F

g2

h3

h4

j3

j4

well, using the diagram from Brian, i found a few differences

diagram:actual car

D1

dark blue:light blue

J4

orange:tan

K2

orange:purple

this is assuming that there should not be:

b2 because i am a vin m and its refering to L

c1 because its meant for buick/olds/pontiac

c2 F because its meant for buick/olds/pontiac and vin f

d5 f because its meant for vin f

e1 because its meant for vin l

e2 f because its meant for f

j1 m because its meant for pontiac/olds with a vin m

j1 f because its meant for pontiac with a vin f

k3 f because its meant for buick/olds/pontiac with a vin f

k3 m because its meant for buick/olds/pontiac

problems with the GP harness:

the page doesn't list B2, C1, H1M, K3, or L2, all of which are present in my harness.

it also mentions E1, G1, and J2, none of which are in my harness.

other than that, they all matched perfectly.

does the lack of e1 mean its an auto?

the lack of g1 mean it doesn't have auto door locks?

the lack of j2 mean it didn't have A/C?

but what do my "extra" wires mean? its not from a 93?

EDIT: all of the wires that weren't mentioned in the manual that are present are all black wires with the exception of H1M, which is blue. are they grounds or what?

it's possible. It's not necessarily that the '93 had extra stuff, it's likely changes in the circuitry of the interior harness. For example, when I went from a '95 underhood harness to a '96, some fuse locations changed. So a circuit that once went thru to my dash fuse block would now just go to an underhood fuse block instead. It's usually trivial things like that.

i just find it odd that they are almost all large black wires, so i'm not sure what to do about it.

and with this newfound knowledge of what the real meaning of M and F are( i must be a late bloomer), i went back over the stuff in the monte and came up with it being correct except for the color of two wires

j4

said orange but is tan

k2

said orange but is purple

now i guess i'll work on seeing what needs to be changed on the one i have in hand...

i hate to do this but... bigalwalker08 can you grab the info for a 92 GTP as well, i cant help but wonder if i was given bad information about the year of vehicle it was out of...

EDIT: question: the fuseblock thats attached to the GP harness: would this replace the block thats in my dash, and only accesible if i open the passenger door, or is it an underhood fuseblock?
