supreme_style21
Awesome. I PB-blasted the hell out of the things, let it set a few days and did it again and I still rounded the heads on the two bottom bolts that hold the rear hub. Is there any way to get those dumb bastards out? I saw a kit at Sears, but it was sockets and I can't get a socket and ratchet in there. Is there another option? I don't have much in the line of welders and whatnot, so I can't start doing anything crazy. I have to move in 2 weeks so I can't have this car held up in the driveway like it is
intern8tion9l
i had the same problem with mine, even broke 4 sockets. i ended up cutting the heads off with a hacksaw, and then the rest of the bolt came right out easily with a pair of vise grips believe it or not
Crazy K
I did this on one, and was able to tap on the next size smaller socket to get it off. You could use a grinder to remove the heads, then pop the hub off...
BXX
you need a knuckle to go along with that hub i sold you
supreme_style21
Probably gonna have to do that. thanks Yeah I broke 2 sockets, then finally went and bought a craftsman set like I've been meaning to do for years, then stripped the head haha. Now I'm gonna have to go buy more craftsman stuff to extract the sheered-off bolt.
supreme_style21
you need a knuckle to go along with that hub i sold you haha, probably would be easier to go that route or if it's body parts you've got, I need 4 new knuckles. Don't know how, but in my fit of rage and anger towards the car, I busted them up pretty good I've always been curious as to how grease and grime and dirt doesn't infect the hell out of your hands when you work on cars. supreme_style21
I just noticed there are holes in the part that's got the wheel studs in it.. they line up with the bolts behind it. I'm gonna have to try jam a socket on the bolt and just use an extension through that hole. Dunno why I didn't see that before.

rockfangd
That is exactly how you do it.You need a deep thin wall quality socket. I have done quite a few and that is the only way to get a socket in there good

supreme_style21
Holy shit, is that real? I'd buy that just to hang in the garage. I wonder if you can ship beer, I'd have someone buy that and send it to me.

supreme_style21
Got the stupid thing replaced finally. Blizzard today, so I'm really glad I left it beside the garage.. nothin like working in a foot of snow and 30 below wind chill haha. Haven't drove the car for nearly 3 months now? It feels like a huge pile of shit. I think I've gotten too used to the 02. I thought I'd miss my 95, but I couldn't wait to get back home and park it :\
