98montels
Ok so I tried the search for about 20 minutes and didn't come up with the result I wanted so.....I'm wanting to replace my spark plugs in my 3100, its in a 98 monte LS. Couple questions tho. 1. What brand should I go with (like best quality/ for the price) 2. Would it be best to get double platinum right? I know single platinum is the cheapest type and was told they fowl out sooner and what not. And another thing I noticed is the acdelco double platinum's are pretty expensive compared to say bosch I believe it was. LMK guys I know it's pretty straight forward but I'm just looking for a little input first.
oldscsc
Stock Delco's work best...at least I hear.
Regal_GS_1989
Stock AC Delco's. I have used NGK Iridium's in a 3.4 with good success, but you can't go wrong with the stock Delcos. As for platinum, don't bother. There is a chance that it will actually perform worse with the plats.
98montels
What exactly is a double platinum? I thought it was the electrode was platinum and the deal that the electrode arc's to (forgot what it's called) is platinum too. On a side note about them possibly being worse, a buddy of myn changed his plugs in a jeep 4.0 inline 6. He used oem replacements and all it did was misfire, we even took them out and regaped them. Had to switch to the double platinum and that fixed it. Thanks

19Cutlass94
In '98 it probably came with regular platnum plugs. Just stick with either AC Delco or NGK.
98montels
Alright then. So OEM replacements it is then I suppose. I guess the OEM replacement plugs are single platinum I think too.
