toastemcutlass
so the other day i finished my head gaskets and porting the heads. it took me the hole week almost. from about 4k to 6400 it pulls alot harder. the only problem is i didnt think of changing the o2 when it was out and the connector is broke so i didnt hook it up. so my question is on a 94 3.4 how can i change it, i cant reach it from the bottom and barley can reach it from the top.( i feel like an idiot i ripped the whole motor apart and cant change the o2  ) Ps ill post some engine picks soon
topless94style
yea i cant reach mine either. I got a manual that says you have to take apart the exhaust to get at it. eitehr take off the manifold and i cant remember if you can take off the exhaust pipe that connects to the manifold to get to it. How was the porting? i wanna do it to my car.
91GranSport
There's a special tool you can rent from automotive stores that allows you to reach in and remove the oxygen sensor. Just ask for it at your local parts store and you'll be able to get it out easily.
toastemcutlass
are you talking about the socket with the cut out in it? or is there a different tool? and about the porting, i think it made a big difference but it almost took me a whole day per head. you wouldnt believe how long it takes to pull out and put in 24 valves. when i post the picts i will have a pic of the cutting tool i found to work the best i tried: diamond tiped bits(works but really slow) sanding drums (same) the stone wheels(same) and a couple other bits, i used a die grinder to do this which works great and i wanted to make my throttle body opening bigger then it was so i used a 3 inch cutt off wheel and now you litterally cut your hand at the tip of the intake

thedeef
rock freaking on dude. i was wondering if it would be worth it to get the port/polish job done. do you think it's worth it to get a new cam at the same time? thanks
JS91Z34
it only took me one day to do both heads on mine. the intakes i had done by a buddy of mine. total down time; 1.5 days. As far as the O2 sensor goes. The only way i found easiest to do was to take all the crap on the right side of the engine bay(above the tranny)and move it out of the way. Then I think it was a 15/16" wrench and cut it in half. I reached down and took the wrench and took it out. I did have to remove the EGR pipe for this but I think I spent a maximum of 30 minutes doing it if that helps anyone?
toastemcutlass
did you take the valves out and work the bowl area? and i did my o2 the other day, i had to drop the cradle to change the alternator. the porting that i did made a big diff, so if you got it done professionaly, on a flow bench i think it would really help. as for the cams, unless you have a lot of money cuz you need four cams and they are really expensive. one thing that i did that helped was to retard the exhaust cam timing, which gives you a little more go.
