1979lee Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Hi Everyone, Ive got a 98 lumina 3.1 with 140 k, she getting upthere in miles now, is there anything i should be thinking about, mainly iam just wondering how many miles ive got left till this thing go's bye-bye? it runs very well, tranny works great serviced twice a year (drain and refill with fresh dex 3), the engines kinda noisy when cold, but other than that it has no problems. ( i dont think it ever had the L.I.M. gaskets changed). thanks Quote
slick Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Just keep up on regular maintenance really. Keep an eye on the oil for coolant mixture for LIM gaskets. Quote

3pt1lumina Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Just watch for LIMs and regular oil changes. The highest mileage Lumina in my fleet is a 97 with 155k now and she's doing just fine. I've seen some run until 220k and some to 35k, it all depends how well you take care of it. Quote

Masterchief362 Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 I had a 96 Lumina 3.1 and had it to 193k Just take care of it. And keep an eye on the LIM. Don't do like I did and fail to get the tranny serviced and lose it. Quote
