gp13069
Is there any way to clean a mass flow sensor? If there is a way to clean it, The best way is how? It's on a 1997 3400. I seen ways to clean them but they seem to be questionable. I have a can of TBI. cleaner from CRC. but I think that is the wrong stuff to use on a mass air flow sensor. They were using carb. cleaner & a wire brush, one guy used water & soap & tooth brush then let it air dry. I can't i manage either of these ways to be safe. I have done nothing to mine yet but it's nasty black because of previous owner left the bottom of air box open letting all kinds of nasty in the intake thanks for your time (: have a good weekend
slick
They sell mass air flow sensor cleaner, in a spray can, at most auto parts stores. It sits right beside the throttle body cleaner. Be sure to take it out, and spray both sides. Let it completely dry! before reinstalling it.

GPX
sweet that's a good thing ill look for some tomorrow and clean it up and then see what type of gas milage it gets (: That's the stuff I used on mine and it definitely helped, but I think my MAF is on its way out (keeps throwing an occasional code). Still, I'm getting just a hair under 30MPG highway with my 3400! It makes me when I see current production shitboxes bragging about 26MPG.
