carkhz316
So I'm bumping this after some serious thinking. I think I want to do the top swap now, beings as that you all pretty much suggested it. And I will probably yank the whole engine and trans so I can rebuild my trans and upgrade to HD diff at the same time, and do the top swap (though in or out of the car, I haven't figured out yet). Well, not to bug everyone with more questions again, but can anyone point me in the direction of parts?
AL
Honestly, I would go to clubgp's for sale section... Some people on there can be dicks but I have never had a problem with a seller... If you sign up over there, go ahead and PM kevin morgan. He just did a top swap on his car so its pretty fresh in his mind.
jeremy
Morad should still sell complete top swap setups.
BXX
Morad should still sell complete top swap setups. w-bodys_are_the_best
If you're doing the top swap, don't forget about the SSEI bonneville and Park Avenue Ultras, though I'm not sure if the PCM work, I assume you'd need a W-body PCM, but could grap the top parts from any L67 car. carkhz316
Thanks guys! I'm hopin to get the funds scraped together for this at some point this summer. I have the time and energy right now, just no $$$. Seems like it's always 1 thing I'm missing from the equation. Time, Energy, Money: Pick two. That's how fast stuff gets done. Anyway, I'll keep ya'll posted. Hopefully I'll be making some blower whine before the end of the summer.

toslowls
Where are you located i have an l67 that i would get rid of. It had 167,000 on it but i tore it done and put brand new sealed power rod and main bearings. I started to finish it but ran out of money it still needs gaskets as i tore it down to replace the bearings. everything comes with it alt, starter, coil packs, have 2 sets of exhaust manifolds as i was going to turbo it. Also comes with tranny, cv shafts, radiator. Everything i have must go and for cheap. You give me a price. It does need a torque converter as i pulled motor and tranny out at a freinds house and he threw it away. you can call at 641-417-9905

carkhz316
Yeah I'm bumpin an older thread, but that's the point of archiving all of 'em right???? But anyway, loooookies what I got yesterday. Complete L67 out of a 99 GTP (minus some serpentine accessories), for $150. Project supercharged 3.8 initiated. Euro
Damn, $150 you suck!! Haha. Do you know the mileage?
carkhz316
The guy said, IIRC, around 150K. OH, and it has a cracked piston skirt on the number 1 cylinder, which scored the cylinder a bit I guess. But I have been convinced by all on here to do a top swap which is what I intend to do. Anyone know what my best option would be regarding the PCM? Should I/ do I get the original for my Z reflashed, or get one from a corresponding car? Euro
Yeah I'd probably just get your Z's pcm tuned. Still a nice score for $150!!! The top swap parts are worth more than that. Do you know how the heads look?
terryk2003
I'd either top swap the l36 or turbo it.... This is exactly what I came into this thread to say...either of this would beat a decently modded L67 any day! Edit: should have read the whole thread first! Lol! Didn't feel like waiting for the slow ass forum to load on my phone! Nice score on the top end! Edited April 15, 2010 by terryk2003

Do you know how the heads look? Do you or anyone on here know how to tune 'em? That's one of the few things I'm uneducated about. As far as the heads, not sure of their condition, though the engine was pulled in running condition, according to the guy I bought it from. I am going to have the heads checked anyway at a local machine shop.
