SleeperRed90TGp Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 My son in law has a 97 3.1 chevy with water in the oil. Mechanics tell him is not the head gasket. Could it b the intake manifold gasket? I have heard of them failing, but not having that new of a car(mine is a 1990 3.1) I don’t know what it could be. Regardless it will be here in an hour. He hops my familiarity with the old 3.1 will be beneficial. What should I look for? He said he spent $700.00 to have the intake gaskets replaced a year ago. Thanks in advance, Jud Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 My '94 CS 3100 had water in the oil. The lower intake gasket was the culprit. Quote
