Addicted to eaton
Yeah, that’s right, you guys can read me like an open book. With a little over 200,000 miles on her I'm pretty sure the oil pump just went out! Ill have a video for you of how the GTP sounds now! What should I do? Top swap a regular 3800 Series 2, Get a l67 for 400 and drop in it. Try to rebuild the 3800 in it I guess I could also make this a Build, If I was going to do that I would build this 1. The MSD 8.5mm 2. MSD Blaster Coils 3. Ported M90 and polished on the outside! 4. MSD Wires 5. XPZ CAM & Install kit 6. Pace Setter Cat-Back Exhaust 7. Armor coated pace setter headers 8. Autolite 104 spark plugs 9. 180 Drilled t-stat 10. 77mm Northstar throttle body 11. 3.2†ZZP pulley 12. Supercharger Coupler 13. ZZP PCM This will cost me 2,616.38 cents befor I buy the motor (400 For a supercharged 3800)
Euro
All are good. If you get a cam don't get an XPZ. That's a cam that's designed for cars that are big mods, like big I/C and aftermarket heads. I'd get just an XP or even a VS cam.
Addicted to eaton
The only reason i would want an XPZ cam is well for the feature. this will be my toy car down the road. Xp cam would work though! about 100 buck's cheaper also
Euro
Yeah, the XPZ sounds amazing, and is a great cam. But people only use it if they have more significant mods, and are deeeeeeeeeep into the 12's/11's.
Addicted to eaton
Here is a video! I found a 3800 Series 2 N/A for 100 dollars with 94k (sisters husband)

Euro
Yiiikes. Sounds exactly like my car did when my motor blew. Don't mess with rebuilding the existing motor. I'd get another motor and go from there!

TIE1-ON
Here is a video! I found a 3800 Series 2 N/A for 100 dollars with 94k (sisters husband) Broken valve dropped in the cylinder, and the piston is slamming it against the head destroying the head and piston in the process I bet. Not unfixable, but the cylinder wall may be gone which trashes the engine. If wanting to rebuild I'd pull the heads off ASAP and not start it again until that's looked at. White93z34
Top swapping the L36 from what I have experienced is a very worthwhile venture.

BXX
Great job on wiping your bearings The oil lights on because you have low oil pressure... Wiped bearings mean excessive clearences, hence the low oil pressure... Quit breaking cars.. I have owned 26 cars so far, most of them old high mileage cars I bought for $300-$500 and never tore an engine or trans up... I just always ended up selling them because I get bored. Learn to drive like a sane person...
88red4cyl
Is it bad im excited about this? LOL! If the heads are ok, then I'd buy the motor for $100 and top swap it... You may want to replace everything in the heads just because that stuff all still has 200k miles on it... But, it you can get a lower mileage l67 for cheap, that would be a good route also.. When the Low Oil light comes on on the dash, there's something like 8psi of oil pressure

Addicted to eaton
Very weird... It doesn't sound too bad now. And it doesn’t have a constant knock Wonder what this could be...
88Regal Limited
Just throwing this out there, but could the M90 be shot?
88red4cyl
Just throwing this out there, but could the M90 be shot? I don't think that would cause the oil pressure to be an issue though... Does it get worse when it runs for a bit and warms up? I know how cold its been here the last few days... Euro
The motor just sounds like it's dead cold and idling high, I can still hear the knocking, especially at the end of the vid.
