Rear Suspension, Informational questions.

Ok, First thing first I am speaking of my 93 Grand Prix with FE1 heavy duty suspension.

I have sagging rear suspension problems.

I have original mono pads. They are deff not as thick as the ones pictured here.

I think someone said that this was from NAPA. Does anyone have a part number?

Second, I was told that you can do a rear suspension swap to a non rear mono leaf car. Anyone know about that?

FE1 is the soft ride suspension... FE3 is the heavy duty/sport suspension.

Napa sells those, they are made by Moog. They are called the leaf spring isolator pads..

To get rid of the monoleaf setup, you will have to do with coilovers. You can either do them yourself ro purchase them through Held Motorsports.

I have heard of the rear suspension swap. I know that the mounting points are all the same. I wonder what fits.

Nope, Gen 1 rear strut mounts are 2 bolt, Gen 1.5 are 3 bolt.. Not as simple as drilling new holes.. Our Gen 1 rear towers arent exactly designed to carry the load of the vehicle like the Gen 1.5s and up do. Our rear subframe actually carries the load..

If your doing a rear coilover conversion, at least get a rear strut tower brace minimum to keep from having severe tower flex.

This spring I will be doing a huge writeup on our suspensions and modifications. Its too cold for me to do much lately in the garage.
