Sub Frame Rubbers...

Can subframe mounts have their rubber replaced using the old metal sleeves, if they are still in decent shape?

After gettng a big 300+ quote to have them replaced (in CDN dollars of course) and not being able to use a non-US credit card with gmpartsdirect, I'm looking for an option to save some coin tightening up these mounts.

So can I just pop some new rubber in these little guys and call it a day?

I have a full set of brand new front subframe mounts..

I was gonna put them in my CS, but time doesnt permit to work on it at work, and its too cold out in my garage.. I will look at me receipt and see how much they ran and then get a small shipping quote to Canada...

You can jimmy rig the bushings, them must be replaced with GM units..

if you get the set (all four mounting points) new, expect to pay at least $120 shipped.

I have the fronts brand new, never installed if you need them.

This job is easy. I did it during finals week in like 2 hours and this was including the hell of a time i had getting the one metal sleeve part out of the subframe

Shipping to Detroit would work for me, no need to deal with international BS. So both of you guys have only the front two sets, or 1loudcutty did you mean all four sets?

So I'm not clear, can just the rubber be replaced properly?

yes, you can replace it. fairly easily. There is an FAQ on the subject, and while it may take 1-2 weeks to get the parts shipped from gmpartsdirect.com, they arent too hard to get.

I have the fronts still cos my front subframe bushings showed basically no wear.

I currently have only the fronts.. I can get the rears in 2 days time.. My work has an account with Serpentini Cheverolet, so I pay wholesale one the items which is prolly cheaper than GMPD

interested in the bushings if scottster doesnt end up wanting them.

Make a move if you want, I won't be doing anything more to the car until we're out of this deep freeze. I think I'll go ahead and just do the rubber when the weather turns around.
