GPdriver1986
I want to clean my engine, but I don't want to buy simple green. Is there anything I can use that I have at home, such as dish detergent or hand soap?
Guest TurboSedan
wow, i think Simple Green is some awesome stuff for engine cleaning - well worth the money. soak the engine in SG and load it up in the back of a truck and blast it at the car wash. i'm sure you'd be happy with the results. i wouldn't even try using dishsoap or hand soap as it probably won't help much. Brakleen is also an awesome cleaner. joshua
92turboLE
Actually, dishsoap is an awesome cleaner - it is designed to be a degreaser for dished but it works wonders on automotive aplications too, also good for getting rid of oil stains in a driveway too. - Justin

However, you *may* need to scrub or power spray to get the results you'll want. Personally, I love Simple Green concentrate... does what any other engine degreaser can't do. - Erik
topless94style
Try steam clean. I used that it works great. Except if you dont get it all off your engine, youll smell it inside your car for a while. Just while the engine burns it off. I like how it works though, you heat up the engine spray it all over, watch the oil and grease come right off. Keep spraying let it sit for 5 or 10 then wash it off with water. Turn the engine off and burn the rest off. I was happy with the results.
