krenzy Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Hey everyone. My girlfriend has a '96 Cutty Supreme, sedan, and her motor is shot. The shop estimated parts and labor would be roughly $270. Can anyone provide me with a tutorial on how to replace it? Thank you! Quote
Brian P Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 if noone responds by tomorrow afternoon I'll write something up! Quote
Crazy K Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 you could always get a wiper motor from a donor. I have not had one fail, but I have one wiper which had linkage damage, and I discovered that a CS vs GP sedan are a bit different! the motor and linkage were the same, but the assembly was different. a used motor should be the way to go. krenzy Posted January 12, 2009 Author Report Posted January 12, 2009 Thanks, I'd appreciate it! Quote
Andrew Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 i also recommend the j/y route. gives you the opportunity to learn how to get it out without worrying about the car! Quote
krenzy Posted January 12, 2009 Author Report Posted January 12, 2009 Well, around here there are no junkyards that will allow you into their yards to remove them...so they remove it. Quote
krenzy Posted January 12, 2009 Author Report Posted January 12, 2009 Me too. The one in my town are total assholes. Rude, name a price, then when they pull it out the price somehow jumps. The one two towns over is nice, and if you offer cash, they seem to have lower prices, but again, they take it out. I honestly think most yards around here have something with some insurance company that says people wlaking through is a liability? Quote
Crazy K Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 whaat a bunch of crap. worst part is... i have three complete CS assemblies lying around! Quote
