daytonboi
Ok so I had a new fuel pump put in and that seemed to help the car out a lot. All my codes except for the misfire disappeared. Well I had it read at Autozone and they told me it was cylinder 1 missfire. So I bought new plugs and wires. Well I pulled the problem plug and if was destroyed...well not all the way but something had hit it. The side electrode was folded back behind itself and the insulator was cracked and center electrode bent up. Well I didn't have the tools to check out the cylinder to see what was in there so me and my father just put a new plug back in. It ran fine for maybe all of five minutes and I heard something and it started running rought again. Well that was weekend before last. I've been driving it around for the past two weeks with no problems except for some thick whitesh smoke after the car has set idling for more than 10 minutes. Then yesterday the car like hesitated and then had almost no power. And would not stay running for more than a minute without intervention. It sounded so bad like metal slapping. I managed to get home. And today went out and started it and it sounded smoother but still didn't want to idle for very long, until I kept pushing it and pushing it and it finally idles almost 15min with no problem but some smoke. Well I took a video of it and was hoping someone could give me some insight into what is wrong. I ready to drop a new engine into this car if that what it will take for me to drive it without incident.
BXX
Sounds like you are dumping coolant into that cylinder maybe and it minor hydrolock can destroy the spark plug really quick
kwk39018
Sounds like your dumping coolant in the cylinders.Intake gaskets could be bad.Check your oil level too.
dodgethis
Dude that does sound bad. I agree about the gaskets. I had caught mine earlier when i saw oil in my radiator reservoir. I don't know what the deal is with the plug being hit by a piston or something and destroying as soon as you put a new one in. Check your radiator fluid and tell what color it is? Black? chocolate milk? Orange? heh....

BXX
Sounds like the headgaskets are shot to me... cracked heads tend to dump more coolant in causing the symptoms he described
dodgethis
cracked heads tend to dump more coolant in causing the symptoms he described If that's the case, then i guess drop in a 3800 One thing I just thought, you mentioned you changed out that one spark plug based upon what the check engine light said. What about the rest of the 5 spark plugs? I know in the event it is cracked heads it wont make that much difference but It would be good to know how fouled up the other plugs are. If the rest are bad what about changing them?

The oil is getting lower and lower and the coolant is staying about the same and its a BRIGHT green.
