dguerra Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 I want to replace the transmission mount on a 95 Cutlass Supreme with a 3100 and an automatic transmission.. Any step by step procedures or pics? Quote
88red4cyl Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 I meant to take pics when I did mine, but I didn't get around to it... I unbolted the dog bone on the driver side before I did anything else... Then I jacked it up, and took off the wheel.. After that, you unbolt the tranny mount.. Put a big block of wood near the edge of the tranny pan, and slowly jack up the tranny... When it is up far enough, pull out the mount and swap the new one in.. The lower the tranny back down, tighten bolts, reinstall wheel, and retighten the dogbone... That's how I did it at least, and it only took me about 45 minutes start to finish... I don't think I forgot anything, but if I did, someone else will chime in... Quote
digitaloutsider Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 That's pretty much everything! The transmission mount is a cakewalk. Quote

xtremerevolution Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 Does ES make polyurethane transmission mounts? Quote
White93z34 Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 I don't know if they do, but you PROBABLY don't want that. the engine and trans have to have SOME flex to them. I've heard of people breaking input shafts over poly lower mounts. Just buy a good solid rubber one and it will more then likely be stiff enough. Quote
