1tinindian
Last night, they worked fine, this morning, I followed my kid to school and noticed that the brake lights were not coming on when he stopped. The running lights and turn signals worked fine. I had no time to check things out just then, but tonight I found the 15 AMP "STOP" fuse wasn't just blown, but melted pretty good. I replaced the fuse, and the brake lights work fine. My question, is why, after driving this car since August, it took till now to blow that fuse? And another thing, my service manual states it should be a 15 amp fuse, and in other portions states it should be a 20 amp. Which is right? Thanks for your thoughts. swift13
well if the fuse wasnt bad i would have said the turn signal switch, there may be a short that caused the fuse to melt and if wires are being pinched somewhere it could be shorting on and off. im not sure about your amp problem but if your book says 15a i would stick with that some would argue its bad to up the fuse size to get something to work and i agree but i have done it with no problems
