webxfx Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Ya this will sound dumb, but I'm having a problem get the bottom of the air box back in - its in a 96 GP LQ1, its the part where it seem to just push back on to the battery clamp - it looks like you just have to push, but can't seem too - should I just try harder or is there a trick to this... webxfx Posted December 21, 2008 Author Report Posted December 21, 2008 bump - anyone... someone has to know the trick to getthing this back in the right spot... Quote
LuckoftheGTP Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 I have a 94 GTP and on the box there is a rubber "nub" that goes into a hole by where the battery is located.(way near the bottom) Its a tight fit. THere is also a screw hold that goes on the battery holder (near top of battery. I hope this helps. Ill see if I can get a pic. Quote
1990lumina Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 Dunno if this would be the same as on my Lumina but one of the coolant hoses is always in the way of getting the air box bottom out. I just tug the shit out of it and it'll come out...and shove the shit out of it to get it back in. Quote
webxfx Posted December 24, 2008 Author Report Posted December 24, 2008 LuckoftheGTP - ya its the rubber nub - I'm talking about, can't get it back in 1990lumina - shove the shit... I've tried, I'll maybe try harder knowing its been hard for you guys aswell. thanks for the help Quote
5speedz34 Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 If you can get the airbox all back together and in, I wouldn't worry about the nub. Dunno if this would be the same as on my Lumina but one of the coolant hoses is always in the way of getting the air box bottom out. I just tug the shit out of it and it'll come out...and shove the shit out of it to get it back in. The 94+ cars have this stupid extra bracket over the battery, it's such overkill. Quote
PCGUY112887 Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 Just shove HARDER, you really have to work to get it in there. Watch what hoses/pieces it hangs up on and try to work around em or push stuff out of the way. Quote
