5speedz34
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=General&tireModel=Altimax+HP I'm thinking of those. This is for the GP. thoughts?
White93z34
For ~$86 each, and the overall reviews of them. I don't see you being able to go wrong with them.
5speedz34
Pretty much what I was thinking.
PCGUY112887
I would also consider... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=Traction+T/A+H&partnum=26HR6TTA I have these tires and love them. The key - The number of miles reported on these vs others in the categories. It seems that a tire can have very good ratings and make it to the #1 spot on Tirerack, but it has only a few thousand miles reported worth, compared to millions of miles on tires with similar ratings. 5speedz34
What kills it for me with traction TA's is the snow rating...
3pt1lumina
Personally, I always see Generals dry rot fast...but you also have to remember I see them appear on Buicks all the time. So as long as you are going to actually drive the car a normal amount of miles ..let's say 10k a year or so, you should be able to get your money out of them. Price seems decent. The BFG's are good overall. We had them on one of my parent's cars for awhile. But you are right, the snow rating isn't all that good. 5speedz34
It's going to be going on the grand prix which is my daily. I want something that is a good all season tire, although I would rather run a dedicated snow tire, the money isn't there.
PCGUY112887
The snow rating isn't that great because it's a High Performance All Season. It's just a trait of performance tires. If you don't want performance, then go with more standard tires like what you listed.
Euro
I've never had a problem in the snow with my Traction TA's. I think they do quite well

5speedz34
Goodyear street eagles?
RareGMFan
It's going to be going on the grand prix which is my daily. I want something that is a good all season tire, although I would rather run a dedicated snow tire, the money isn't there. I'm in the same exact boat. I want something that will do decent in the snow without being dedicated snow tires. Finding a quality compromise is rather difficult. I had narrowed my search down to these 2: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?sidewall=Blackwall&tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+G+019+Grid http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Eagle+GT .....that is, until you brought up the other tires you're looking at. Those ranked even better in all categories. But as was mentioned, they don't seem to be time-tested, yet. Still, I really like the looks of the sidewall and tread, price is good, and so are the reviews. I think I'm just going to end up buying those instead. 5speedz34
Those Bridgestone's I wouldn't want because of snow, and the Eagle GT's haven't been rated really yet, but Goodyear's generally aren't that good.
Biohazed
O have the Bidgestone Potenza's on mine currently and they are crap ... after 28k they are dryrotting and i have very little traction. i would NOT recommend them. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Continental&tireModel=ContiExtremeContact&partnum=26VR6CEC&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&place=5&speed_rating=S&speed_rating=T&speed_rating=U&speed_rating=H&speed_rating=V&speed_rating=Z&speed_rating=W&speed_rating=Y&speed_rating=(Y)&minSpeedRating=S excellent tires if you can afford the extra cash http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=Solus+KR21&partnum=26TR6KR21&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&place=10&speed_rating=S&speed_rating=T&speed_rating=U&speed_rating=H&speed_rating=V&speed_rating=Z&speed_rating=W&speed_rating=Y&speed_rating=(Y)&minSpeedRating=S is another option and actually are not bad tires at all
