Power-Glide Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 I scored a set of struts off of a 96' Buick regal yesterday, and just finished up installing them today... Problem is with my 10.5" rotors installed the caliper bracket rubs on the face of the rotor.... I know for a fact the donor car had the 11.25" brakes because the rotors were in the trunk. Now can anyone tell me if the caliper brackets will be different between my 90' GP and this 96' Regal or do all I have to do is put the 11.25" rotors on? In advance thanks for the replies. Edit: While I think of it, if anyone has these handy off of the car can you give me the center to center measure of the bolt holes where the big T-60's hold the bracket to the strut knuckle? That might help me finding a compatible pair. Quote
patgizz Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 may as well use the bigger rotors for more stopping power. Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 The caliper brackets are pretty much the same. You should not be using 10.5" rotors if the knuckles are designed for 11.25" rotors. That will mean you have reduced brake pad coverage. Quote
Power-Glide Posted August 20, 2003 Author Report Posted August 20, 2003 I am going to use the 11.25's it's just that I need to know whether the brackets are identical, or different. Quote
