Q-Ball Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 If its your rears, this sounds like blown struts. Same thing happened to me. Espically when you have ppl in the back. Time to get new rear struts. Quote

GP1138 Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 I had this on my old GP, and the struts helped some, but it turned out the monoleaf pads were shot and the monoleaf was just saggy. That might also be a factor. Quote

That might also be a factor. Ya, struts don't support the wait of the car much at all. The monoleaf does and you're probably going to have to look into that. They're some threads about re-shimming them with those lift blocks. Quote
mra32 Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 well your car is designed to have the wheel go through the whole motion, blown struts or not. So i'd fix any interference issues. Its expensive to replace tires. Just roll the inner fender, it takes like 2 seconds. And its easier if you have blown struts, you just need a friend. All you gotta do is put a round piece of metal or wood (metal prefered, but something like a small log would work) whose diamter is a little bit smaller than your wheel gap, place it on top of the tire and angle it so that the top is pointing in toward your car and get a friend to bounce the rear end of your car. Keep moving the round block to bend up the inner lip in all areas that it would contact the tire Dont get your fingers pinched! There are other ways to do it, its not rocket science, but the easiest ways include using your tire as a fulcrum and something stiff to bend the inside Quote

DannZ34 Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 If I am not mistaken they are rubber pads that cusion the monoleaf where it seats in the left and right knuckles. when I changed my struts i knoticed that I had one missing and the other was completely worn out. Quote

Look underneath and just where the struts end you should see rectangular plastic blocks, should be white in colour I would think, right where everything seems to meet: I can't find Matt's pic, so here's mine. The GP is way worse for visability down there! If there's nothing there on one or either side, that's your problem. Quote
