Olds W31 Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 I just saw someone that swapped the stock, steel cradle for aluminum...has anyone bolted this in or measured it for use on a 94 W body? The one I saw was a 98 using a 2000 cradle. http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd72/dezldave961/0928070252.jpg This seems like a great way to lose weight off the front, as well as perhaps "upgrade" to the newer suspension or allow use of the spindles that would let us fit bigger brakes, etc? Has anyone ever looked at the possibility? I would, but being saddled with other issues (trans, job, etc) I won't be anytime soon. Quote
GP4U2NV Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 Brian teel and I talekd about this and found that it is NOT possible from 1 gen to 2nd gen. Quote
5speedz34 Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 The second gen cradle is very different from the first gen and probably wider. Quote
MikeP2389 Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 na it only works on 2nd gens. it does knock off about 45lbs tho. Quote
RareGMFan Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 Yeah, this is very common for Gen 2 guys to do. I think it was the Impalas, and I forget what else, that got the aluminum cradles. Quote
kuntzie Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 its 93 lbs lighted and onl works on 97+ Quote
