runt Posted August 20, 2003 Report Share Posted August 20, 2003 So I was gone for about 4 days and the car sat in my driveway. All locked up and clean So anyway, I get home at about 9 tonite and I go to start it....and it cranks and clicks....clicks....clicks. I get pissed, yell a little bit and turn the key to off. I try it again and I got click...click...crank...click. So again, pissed, I turn the key off. This time, it clicks about 3 times and starts! I let the car run about 10 minutes and shut it off...waited about 30 min....did it again. So this time I drove around for a about 15 minutes and let it sit for 2 hrs at my g/f's house and now it seems fine. I realize that it's probably just a crappy battery b/c I think it's been awhile since it's been changed....just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem and hoping that it's only the battery and not something more serious or whatever.....thanks! Redfox340 Posted August 20, 2003 Report Share Posted August 20, 2003 Same, the alternator is able to hold hte load while the car is running... ...but if not replaced, you kill the alt with it.
