lb79theone Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 I debadged everything else on my car but I have my bowtie on the trunk panel still! I want to know how to get rid of that and how do I make the hole that will be there go away too. I also only need to do the side panel Monte Carlo stick on emblems on both sides but I know how to do that, then just buff it after to get rid of the fadded sections. Then my car will be completly debadged! Cant wait! Thanks in advance! Brendon Quote
lb79theone Posted December 3, 2008 Author Report Posted December 3, 2008 No one knows how? Aght.. Ill find out the hard way I guess. Quote
jeremy Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 the rear emblem on my old '97 Z34 didn't have a hole behind it Quote
lb79theone Posted December 5, 2008 Author Report Posted December 5, 2008 The bowtie? Or the Z34 and Monte Carlo emblems? The LS and Monte Carlo emblems on it were stick ons, I got those off. Was urs a adhesive or bolted for the bowtie? Quote
lb79theone Posted December 6, 2008 Author Report Posted December 6, 2008 oh ok. Ya I am doin the rest of the debadging tomorrow ill see if I can get the last bowtie off with a heat gun and floss.. and goo gone if I need it, then ill be done with that. Thank you! I hope it is stick on. Quote
MonteCarloChick Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 There should be a tiny raised circle behind the bowtie you might have to sand smooth. but yeah, no hole. Just take the whole panel off and see if you're nervous It couldn't be any simpler Quote
lb79theone Posted December 6, 2008 Author Report Posted December 6, 2008 So it is stick on? And how do I take the trunk lid panel off? ??? Quote
jeremy Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 It is a stuck on badge. The panel can be removed by the few bolts on the backside of that panel on the trunklid. Quote
lb79theone Posted December 6, 2008 Author Report Posted December 6, 2008 Ok, thank you! I am doin that later today, thanks again. Quote
MonteCarloChick Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 I remember when I tinted my trunk panel year ago I was driving around without one on.. looked odd Quote
lb79theone Posted December 7, 2008 Author Report Posted December 7, 2008 Lol. Ya after I finish debadbeing it I am going to nite shade my whole trunk panel and reverse light bar! Itll look sick! Thank you so much. Quote
lb79theone Posted December 14, 2008 Author Report Posted December 14, 2008 Lol, yes! I have been out of power here in maiune cuz of the ice storm so yes! Lol. Ill get pics. I also did my side panel emblems, so my car is completly debadged! Looks sick! Quote
jeremy Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 take the side body moldings off too? removing them really cleans up the car Quote
lb79theone Posted December 14, 2008 Author Report Posted December 14, 2008 IDK about that I kinda like that on there. Wouldent that leave a creas or something? And also I have the clear/chrome look goin on on the front and blacken the back and clear/chrome the front leaves it balanced you know? Quote
jeremy Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 you can remove them and nothing will be visible at all. I did it on my '97 Z34 and Cully has done it on his too......I didn't realize you had an LS, seeing that is the case I would recommned removing all the cheesy chrome trim too Quote
MonteCarloChick Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 It's hit or miss on removing the side moldings. If water and dirt/salt build up under there you'll have some ugliness like I did on part of the car. But mine is black and I could easily touch it up. Quote
lb79theone Posted December 15, 2008 Author Report Posted December 15, 2008 Ya I am going to leave it. Thats a good point Nicole. Quote
