Recommended Posts

Ok so i do not have a factory alarm on my car. I want to install one but i want to put the trunk pop on it as well. Does anyone think this is possible? I have a 93 GP 4 door

you will need a power trunk release solenoid

Is that the thing that is attatched to the inside of the trunk lock? and if so how would i get one?

junkyard... or post a wanted ad in the for sale/wanted section... I bet one of the members has one from a part out

It takes one wire with a 12volt source. The solenoid grounds itself through it's body to the trunk lid. The 12 volt wire energizes the solenoid momentarily to pop the trunk.

I am not sure about the wiring as the one I have, the wires were cut... But when they install the alarm, they will also need to install a keyless receiver and the trunk release will have to be wiring from that somehow also.

The alarm i nmy Lumina is wired to the trunk pop. All it does it use of one the aux outputs fro mthe alarm module to energize the solenoid. Very simple system
