GrandPrix34
well i bought the GM Top Engine Cleaner and followed procedure...DAMN lots of smoke, however my car stalled for like 4 secs...never once did i have to use the throttle linkage to keep the car running....i did not let any air between the can and the brakebooster hose...afterwards there was still lots of smoke b ut im wondering...when it says, let the car stall, does it mean let it die out or wat cuz mine stalled for like 4 secs and thats it, then it kept running at high RPM idle (cuz of disconnect vacuum line) while a shit load of smoke still poured from the exhaust.... did i do something wrong?? Redfox340
When it says "let the car stall out" you should let the motor die from sucking in the cleaner and not enough air to create proper combustion. However you should be fine; let the car sit overnight or run it on the highway or higher speed roads to get the RPM's up. The reason it's still fumbling is that there's still residual cleaner and carbon / gunk deposits. Did you do the cleaner on a cold engine or at running temp? If at cold, it's possible for the Oxygen Sensor to have some crud on it since it's not [again] properly burning off. Let us know if anything changes. - Erik
GrandPrix34
i did it at normal running temp and it fumbled till it was about to die then it regained life...thats wat im wondering about. GrandPrix34
all is well! I know this wont add a single horsepower but one thing is certain, it has cleaned up and freed up alot of lost HP due to carbon build up! The car feels fresher
