z26beretta
Ok, weird problem, does any one know why or any fixes? I have a 94 Lumina that stalls. When I shift from reverse to drive the car wants to stall out when I hit the gas. This only happens after I start it and It does not matter if the car is hot or cold. I thought that it might be the fuel trim or a sensor not reading correctly but I hooked it up to my Tech II and everything checked out as normal. Help Me Out this is getting annoying as all get out Thank you
Brian P
1st step check the IAC valve for proper operation and if it's gummed up. Maybe spray some cleaner down the IAC bore in the throttle body. Next, be sure the throttle plate is clean and that the tiny idle air calibration hole is not blocked or clogged in any way. If all is good, the next thing to check is if the MAP sensor is reading properly during these near-stall conditions. If the scan tool shows the data freezing, or fluctuating wildly, you may have that sensor on the fritz. It wouldn't hurt to check all vacuum lines going from the TB to the MAP sensor, fuel regulator, and also the PCV line at the back of the plenum. A small vacuum leak could cause havoc at idle speeds.
