It eats alternators and the main bearings are made of bananna peels. If you ever have the masochistic need to pointlessly throw money at a car, by all means, buy a Z-34 Lumina, a 91-96 GTP Grand Prix, or an Olds Cutlass with this motor in it. 91GranSport
Perhaps he's really pissed off about the problems he had in his 3.4L Twin Cam engine. It doesn't sound like he's being unreasonable though, we've seen similar problems here on this forum. Guest's Name: W. Power-Glide
We don't have a grudge against the L67 do we? Even with power adder I have seen 0 driveable LQ1's that can do a low 11 or high 10, and do daily driver duty while still retaining great mileage(atleast 25 highway, 18 city). Not to mention Aaron's LQ1 just proved that guys theory of "main bearings are made of bananna peels".
Brian P
We don't have a grudge against the L67 do we? If we want to make the comparison fair, how bout we put a Buick 3.3L against a 3.4L OHV V6 and see which engine hauls ass. The buick design sucks, nice balance shafts! Power-Glide
Although I am not familiar with the 3.3L buick, I do know the olds 3300 very well - if the one in my dads 90' cierra is the same? Bottom line it blows, has balance issues, and a rough idle problem that has everyone puzzled - totally mechanical. In defense of the 3.3L(why do I even try ) the 3300 hasn't evolved at all and isn't being used anymore? The 3.4 has now had a full 12 years to iron all the bugs and will be a much smoother motor due to it's internal balancing and being 30* closer to a straight six. Although for the life of me, I couldn't beat the shit outta that 3300 in the cierra to save my soul

Yes the earlier buick engines (3.0, 3.3, 3.8) were indestructible, junkyard owners tell me those engines often outlast the new 3.8, so Ive heard
