GPdriver1986
Ok I'm confused about how much refrigerent I should put in my car. I read the label in the engine compartment it says I need 1lb of R-12 but I will be filling my car with r-134a (conversion kit). The kit came with 3 big cans (all in one deals). So 1lb= 16oz(right?) and 1 can has 12oz of refrigerent. I also read in the instructions that you only have to fill the r-12 system with 75-85% r-134a of the original r-12 capacity(1lb).So (12/16)x100 = 75%. AM I RIGHT? 91GranSport
That sounds right, but it's probably better to have a little bit less than full than have it overfull. If you're not completely sure just fill it up slowly until your feel your A/C system is running really cold and have it professionally pressure tested when you're done.
