What's the top you would pay?

...for a 52K mile one-owner (older couple) '97 red coupe with a spotless AutoCheck record? I've located one at a dealer and he's well over bluebook but I'd be willing to give him a grand more or so for the miles and overall condition. No leather, power seat, CD or sunroof. Bluebook I believe is right at $4,000. I really want the car as I doubt I'll find many like it with one-owner 'easy' miles. He put four new tires on it as well.

Thanks.

$3,000 would bea steal in my opinion. It's a Series II. I'm just not sure if I'm going to see many 52K mile '97's come around...but I don't want to get screwed either. He's definitely high but not insanely high.

52,000mi or not it is still almost 12 years old. for $6000 you could find something far newer. Like Brian said, go back in 6 months and see what he says then.

what options did it have?
