hoodilio Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 I know that most of us 3100 V6 owners have had a hard time finding a 180 degree T-stat, but i have found one and intalled it. It is the Hypertech part number HYP1020. It was 15 bucks and took about all freekin day to install along with a coolant system flush. It work pretty good. My engine used to run a little over 200 degrees and at a stop it sometimes reached 225. Now with the new one it runs a little under 200 and at a stop doesn't get any hotter then 205. I am pleased with the results, just wish it didn't take soo much effort to get to the T-stat housing, plus i am only 18 and this is my first car. Quote
per0781 Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 but you gotta learn sometime right? Quote
Robby1870 Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 Is it just me, or do most 3100s on here seem to run hotter than my 3.1L?? I mean, Im on a stock 195 T-stat, new coolant, original water pump and radiator, and while driving my car NEVER hits 220*, seriously. Maybe they just run hotter, just curious Robby Quote
supreme_style21 Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 My 3.1 runs around 180.. my 3100 runs around 220. Quote
Brian P Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 but you gotta learn sometime right? Paul....what the hell are you doing to your engine? Quote
