ST springs, FFP Coil OVers, KYB GR2s- Best rim size?

Wanting like a mother fucker to drop my Lumina. I have all the parts to do it, right down to the GR2s. But I don't have any larger rims than 16". (I also need a Z34 rear bumper, but I am having a hell of a time finding one.)

I have two Monte Carlo 16" rims on the car now, and they are the standard ones you see most common, and what came on the 95 Z34s. I plan to get two more before the snow flies, but who knows.

If the car would look hideous with 16" rims and the drop achieved by these components, are 18s the best way to go? I have been wanting a set of 18s for years, but the funds are never quite there. But I will roll my pennies to get them if that's best.

What are everyone's experiences with a dropped gen 1 with 16" stock rims? Pics would be a plus.

Oh, and the reason I want to get these on is because since I decided to get sober, I have been itching more than ever to finish this car. So a start would rule. And I can't wait to get my DOHC vert STB on there either. :willynilly:

I say get some 16 X 8 inch crosslaces and run 245/50R16's.

Somebody has them on their Z34 on here, and *I* actually kind of like them (although they look a LOT better on GP's).

Either way, stock Monte 5 stars are 16 X 6.5 inch and won't really take anything larger than a 225mm tire without compromising handling.

^^ You have a fucked rear suspension ^^  The wheel should be very much centered in the wheel well..

Its just the angle. It is a bit closer to the front, but that's how its been since I bought the car. Plus, the leaf bushings were shot in that picture.

If you google more pictures of 1st gen regal coupes, you'll see they all look the same.

I have the ST's up front and FFP coils out back. I have 16" rims and its pretty good. Ride is good and handles great. Although i really wanna go with a heavier spring in back.
