egr valve cleaning

I searched through 3 pages but I didnt find any good info on cleaning the EGR valve and what products were used... Can someone direct to a good link or let me in on some info.

I cleaned my TGP EGR with carb cleaner and a toothbrush.

Whats exactly wrong or the problem? Normally you dont need to clean the EGR, but rather the port in the manifold cuz it gets clogged with carbon

I wanna clean it just because... the car has 178k on it and I dunno any history of it other than the motor and trans are out of a lumina.

O2 sensor is pooched, or you could have a bad injector or two.

or all of them lol... Im gonna try to run some injector cleaner through it.
