Andrew
IMO rebuilding any AT trans is not easy. there are sooo many parts inside there its easy to get them mixed up. bands, snap rings, clutches, discs etc. and you need special tools to get certain parts out. if you have an extra trans & a manual, i'd say go for it. if not, then not. carkhz316
Difficulty is relative to experience. Hard for someone that's never done it before; easy for a pro rebuilder. I've done numerous transaxles and transmissions, most recently a 4L60-E with which is basically the same except in your car, the 'guts are placed beside the pump and TC and linked together by a chain'. Thats a simple comparison, but as far as difficulty goes: get a book, lots of space and brake clean, and pay attention to how EVERYTHING comes apart and DEFINITELY keep EVERYTHING in order. Hope this helps.
