DeathScythe
what about year range
slick
4t60e? Some 93's, 94-96. Maybe 97, someone else here will have to answer that.
Crazy K
WHAT ENGINE? WHAT TRANNY? you want one from the same engined donor. 93 is a direct swap with 93 on the E model transmissions. different year transmissions will swap if the plug, or the wiring internals of the transmission are changed. slick
I had to swap the plug on my Z34 during a harness swap (harness was from a different year).

DeathScythe
what about using a 4T60E out of a 92 Z34. what all would i have to change.
AL
Im pretty sure the 3.4 tranny (??) differs from the 3.1 trans (4T60E).
Crazy K
Im pretty sure the 3.4 tranny (??) differs from the 3.1 trans (4T60E). 3.33 FDR vs 3.43 FDR. allegedly possible, but if you did it you might have issues with the difference. try to find a 3.1 tranny. DeathScythe
the reason I was asking was because I found one for a 92 Z34 with 3000 miles on the rebuild for $300. Thats a really good deal for a rebuilt trans so that is why I'm asking.
DeathScythe
All I should have to do is just get a custom chip with the new shift point and possible swap the harness correct.
Crazy K
The difference of a 3.33 vs 3.43 is only about 3%... but if it does cause an issue, then a custom chip would fix it... I still think a proper tranny would be best, but you may be ok.
slick
Should work alright. You may have to swap the plug that go's into the transmission though.
DeathScythe
thanks for your input. does anyone else have any input because I am trying to get a couple of opinions before I spend $300 on a trans. I don't have the money to buy a trans that I won't be able to use. As far as a custom chip goes it will give me an excuse to have to buy one finally. But $300 for a rebuilt 92 4T60E Z34 trans with the guy bring it from upstate NY to an hour from my house in Richmond, VA is not a bad deal. It's for a 93 3.1 Lumina so I'm thinking the plug might be the same just the FDR is different but can be corrected by chiping the computer which I was going to anyway. Plus it only has 3000 miles on the rebuild.
DeathScythe
I can deal with swapping the plug for a $300 rebuilt 3000 mile trans.
Crazy K
93 tranny should have the same plug no matter the FDR. as long as it comes from a W, it should work..... worst case is the car operates only in limp mode, but I think since it is a 93 won't be too bad. DeathScythe
Thanks King Ken and Slick for all ya'lls input in all my questions. I was hoping to hear from all the experts because together ya'll could tell me if there was even a bolt that was different. Speaking of different bolts are the trans mounts bolts in the same location. Thanks.
