brian89gp
Tell me what this sounds like: -puch the gas from a stop, rpms jump to 2300 before the car moves. A stock DOHC tcc shouldn't be this high -accelerating in 3rd or 4th gear with the tcc unlocked, the rpm's will stay at 3000 +-50 but the car will accelerate 10-15mph. The rpm's do not move -on a big hill in 3rd or 4th, the more i push the gas the higher the rpm's shoot all the while going the same speed. I have seen a 3000 rpm difference between the different throttle positions -with the tcc unlocked, the car feels so slow like it won't accelerate (this is in 3rd and 4th only, first and second seem fine). Once the tcc locks up the car will accelerate again.
PaPaPooh
check fluid level if fluid is full check for a bronze color and smell it if it smells burnt (get a fresh quart of fluid and compair smells) you could have a bad tranny from the sounds of the punch from stop you have low fluid or you clutch packs are worn and may need rebuilt ok im not respomsable for the effects of this but you can mash the gas and see what rpms it shifts from first to second and if it shifts harsh or soft or any at all i am willing to bet the tranny fluid is low or you have burnt fluid keep us posted on what you find
brian89gp
The tranny itself is working flawlessly, shifts and all that just fine. Fluid is red and full. I have the 1-2 and 2-3 accumulators shimmed so those shifts are neck-breaking anyway. To me the trans seems to be working fine, its like the TCC is slipping excessively but knowing nothing about them I really don't know. Could it be a TCC solenoid? Something is not completely engaging huh? *thinks* Hmm... - Erik

Robby1870
Sounds like the TC or the TCC solenoid. Try pulling that 5 wire connector on the front of the trans under the airbox, see what that does. That holds the wire for the TCC solenoid. With it unplugged you wont have TCC lockup, but if the TCC is the problem, then it *should* act just fine Robby
brian89gp
Its a 7wire plug on the 4t60e, and nothing is wrong with the tcc solonoid. Unplugging the TCC solonoid would diagnose a lockup problem (which works fine) but not an internal failure of the tcc itself (which is what i think i got). Robby1870
yeah, if its internal then the plug thing wont work. I didnt know you had a -E either. It does sound like a internal TC problem Robby
