xtremerevolution
Too bad there aren't really any before pictures to compare with. However, not too bad for your first try Probably isn't too much else you can do before ripping off the heads and re-working them. Yeah, I wasn't going to start with the heads, as I needed to drive the car the next day and even missed the meet as a result. The performance gains were well worth the effort though. The original manifold was pretty bad. I'm pretty sure I shaved off a good 1/8" in both height and width, and still stayed marginally smaller than the heads. Pretty big improvement. I also shaved off the bump where the injectors come down to further decrease turbulence. I would have polished the runners more properly and thoroughly, but I didn't have enough time for that either. slick
Hmm.... well, you could always pick up an extra set of heads, and get to work on those. Not sure what all you can do, but anything should help.

Not sure what all you can do, but anything should help. Should, I agree. Only problem is that once you get the heads done, your next bottleneck is your front exhaust manifold. IIRC you can get one for $120, but that's another $120 I don't have right now, lol. While you're at it, you'd probably change head gaskets too, but that's yet another $50 for the gaskets. It depends. How much can I get a set of heads for at a junkyard if I pull them myself?
slick
Hard saying, see if there are any pull a parts, and call them up.
xtremerevolution
Hard saying, see if there are any pull a parts, and call them up. The last two I've been to in chicago have Mexicans working the desks and not that I have anything against Mexicans in particular, but when you're a white guy walking in there that doesn't look like your typical mechanic, they seem to burn you on pricing, as if you don't know how much this stuff is worth. They wanted $80 for a lip spoiler from a cutty vert, and another $50 per tail light from the same car. Granted I didn't buy them, but they burned me $10 for a side marker lens for my Regal. Does anyone know of any *good* junkyards with decent prices in the Chicago suburbs?
Night Fury
I bought a lip spoiler once. I set it on the counter and he was like "WTF is this!?" I told him it was a spoiler and he was all like "WTF" and charged me like $10 or something.

(I80 east, exit 2, go north till it looks ghetto as hell, and go another city block, it'll be on your right before the bridge 3 miles total from the highway) Acme in Kankakee is kinda pricey on certain things, but they're pretty dumb and easy to chisel down, not to mention, downright easy to pocket shit from, all the GM stuff is in the back by the imports. (I-57, Exit 315, go south to grinnell road, turn left, go under 57, turn left into the gravel road)

I wouldn't mind making a few runs down there from time to time. I like dumb people. People who charge you "per square foot" fender pricing on rear wings. I could really use another throttle body for my regal. Somehow I managed to get that MAF sensor's bolts siezed up and no amount of force or lube will get them out. I sure as hell hope it never needs to be replaced.
AWeb80
Hey Andrei, on your front Mani, you ported the back side of it where it connects to the X over right? That's the tight spot right?

That's the tight spot right? Nah, I ported it on the head side. The side where it connects to the x over was large and fine; in fact larger than my exhaust pipe.
