19Cutlass94 Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 I think I have one of the few RSM bars left... Quote
mra32 Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 if youre looking to quantify how well these bars work, why dont you just hook up a strain gage up to the bar when youre driving and datalog it. youre garunteed to see results. My RSTB definitely made those strange interfaces between 2 roads much better. The kind where the 2 road surfaces dip to meet each other. Instead of the car just bending all over the place, it feels solid over thes bumps. I now crave a FSTB Quote
CSI_MuNkY Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 FWIW to everybody. I am borrowing Q-balls 3.4 vert bar to look into the possibility of making a jig and reproducing the bar. I have NO idea about costs at this point, I haven't gotten a price on the materials. And yes, mine is the GMPP bar, its a matter of drilling 2 holes in each plate and using bolts with the thinest heads you can find. Mine does hit the hood, but over time the hood has dented to make room for the STB. The dent is in the reinforcing of the hood and is only about 3/8" long by maybe 1/8" deep. Jamie Quote

ismellrealbad Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 ok that site lists them for 1st gen, but because they do everything assbackwards i still cant find who sells them. Quote
Imp558 Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Anybody ever make one? I stopped to chat with a buddy of mine who owns a fab shop here and we discussed just making both mine from round tubing. I tried to talk him into making me nice A-Arms too but that would be a serious rainy day project. Quote
Go4DaMo Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Is the Cutlass Supreme convertible the only 1st Gen to get the re-inforcement?? What about newer generations? Quote
tunerlover3 Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Im buying some today that were made by a fellow mymonte member. Quote
xtremerevolution Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 I made my own out of round steel tubing. Fairly simple and straightforward. Quote
Imp558 Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Doesn't seem too damn tricky, I designed mine today and decided I want dual 1 inch tubes, no plate to fabricate, just a few tubing bends and a few inches of weld. Quote
dylan1630 Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 WOAH my mouth dropped when i saw under the hood of that trubo! Quote

RobertISaar Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 quite a few hours of arc welding went into it... the "putty" is bondo.... just very rushed that day or else it would have actually took the time to make it look better. Quote
