Piston.Hurricane Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 Let see some pics of the strut tower braces you guys are running. I'm looking to add a little flash under my hood and want to see what looks good. Don't forget to tell me where you got it! Thanks! Hurricane. Quote
MonteCarloDude Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 This is a old pic, But the the STB is the same. Quote
CSI_MuNkY Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 ^^^^ I'm running the same one in the GP, I'll try to remember to snap a pic of it tomorrow. Jamie Quote
Night Fury Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 Damn that's a sharp bay!!^^^ I just have a lowly 3.1 cutty bar... but it gets the job done! Quote
jake91 Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 just what was on it stock its kind of hard to see Quote
dodgethis Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 What is real reason to having one of those? I mean i know it supports the back end of the engine bay but is their any real significance for it? Quote
jeremy Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 What is real reason to having one of those? I mean i know it supports the back end of the engine bay but is their any real significance for it? quite a bit of handling improvement Quote
Q-Ball Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 What is real reason to having one of those? I mean i know it supports the back end of the engine bay but is their any real significance for it? Body flex too. But huge handling upgrade for the price and how easy it bolts up. Quote
GOT2B GM Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 My DD: 91 Cutlass Supreme International, 3.4 DOHC w. LQ1 vert bar One of my toys: 90 Turbo Grand Prix, 3.1 Turbo w. LQ1 vert bar Quote
gpchris Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 Mine gets really close. I may grind down the intake a little to be safe. Quote
Piston.Hurricane Posted October 26, 2008 Author Report Posted October 26, 2008 Thanks for the pics, guys. Keep them coming! I'd also like to see some pics of units from BMR, Held, etc. Love that red. Thanks! Quote
Cully77 Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 My rear is Held, you want to see that? Hard to get good pics of though haha Quote

But huge handling upgrade for the price and how easy it bolts up. Reducing body flex is HOW it improves handling, so that's one in the same reason. when it come to 1G STBs, the LQ1 FSTB > * [/thread] The RSM ones were nice, too, but WAY to expensive when new for being aftermarket. They're no longer available. Neither are the factory Cutlass convertible bars, but you can come across those on here and eBay a hell of a lot more often. Quote

Euro Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 I don't have one of the GP's on yet. But here was the square vert bar on the Lumina Quote

I picked up a '93 Cutlass convertible bar a couple weeks ago. After I installed it, I decided that it didn't have enough "flash" for me, so I'm looking to replace it. After seeing most of the posts so far, it also looks like everyone has one (another negative). Quote
tdvs Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 Mine gets really close. I may grind down the intake a little to be safe. Can't tell for sure from the pic, but is yours chromed? Looks nice. Highly visible. Does look close. Can you just space the bar up a little? Tom Quote
Cully77 Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 hmmm i think this is about as good as i can do for the rear Quote
GOT2B GM Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 the factory didn't put them on the verts for nothing Quote
pontiacmaniac94 Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Buick STB FTW! Oh, and used the same bar in the back.... might not look all that spectacular, but it gets the job done! and only cost me like 20 bucks total! Quote
CSI_MuNkY Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Here is the pics of mine. Jamie Quote
