5speedz34
I want to install a non-power mast in my car. There is no mast ATM. I think I might go to the junkyard this weekend and get a non-power mast. How do I remove the non power mast? Is it just a nut underneath it? Can it be accessed by a crescent (adjustable wrench)? slick
http://www.mytoolstore.com/astro/7888.jpg That big long piece in there is an antenna tool. It takes off the part that is actually holding the entire antenna, on the outside, in place.
5speedz34
I'm talking specifically the mast. Which IIRC, is removed from inside the trunk? Doesn't it just have a nut holding it on? The antenna itself comes off with a 10mm wrench. Edit: It was years ago, that's why I'm asking but I know I never removed a antenna with a special tool. Brian P
IIRC there's a bolt that fastens a small bracket to the body. This holds the mast base in its location. I don't remember using a special tool for that piece.
rockfangd
treis a pecial nut on the outside just underthe mast. Usually has 4 nubs and that has to b unscrewed and the unit pulls in through the trunk. Easy. I f you dont have the tool, snap ring pliers or needlenose plies would work in a pinch. I have changed so many its not even funny lol
