The VATS *shouldn't* cause you to stall while your driving, unless it is popping an ignition fuse.

The 40amp Ignition switch #1 has now blown twice. The first time it blew I was going to school, I pulled into a convenient store with no issues, when I went to leave the car would not start. The second time that fuse popped, I was driving (going around a left hand corner in fact) and it died on me and would not start again.

Wow, that's some serious issue. IIRC, the VATS power shouldn't be coming from one of the Ignition fuses. Have you followed the wires through, back to the fuse panels, and on?

Actually... Do you have a digital multi-meter?

No and no, lol

BUT, I was able to find a wiring diagram of the circuit with that fuse on it. Maybe you can make more sense of it than I can.

First box off the battery in this diagram has the fuse in question in it.

Yeah a multi-meter in this case would help you determine when and where it is grounding. Any of the local members on here have a multi meter that can check Ohm's or Continuity(little picture that looks like sound) that you can borrow off of them?

Hmmm, Jason or Matt might have one. But I have NO clue how to do it. Especially being that its fairly random. Some days I can drive the car with no issues, other days its all I can do to drive the car period.

And right now there is no insurance on it so I am limited to moving it around the property.

I just figured I would swap out the column and if that doesn't fix the fuse blowing problem, then I will take care of a few other issues (sending unit and dieing alt) and then send it to my parents mechanic when I am done school. He is an automotive electronics specialist. I have the Jeep to drive until I am done school, at which time I hope to take over my fathers 04 Silverado.

I'm really wanting to say that either there is a loose connection, a failing ground, or some insulation has rubbed through.
