Ok, here goes Zach...

So there is no fabrication involved, you will be upgrading to the 1st gen larger brakes.. 94+ rears and most 95 to 97 1st gen onlys

The fronts, really simple. Get the entire strut knuckle assy off the donor car..

-Remove axle nut socket

-Unbolt/pop off balljoint

-Unbolt/pop off tierod end

-Remove brake hose from line (keep hose!!)

-Remove 3 upper strut mounting bolts

-Remove strut knuckle assy. Swap onto your car. I recommend getting new rotors/pads. Your existing calipers swap right over. They arent different on the larger front system

I dont know about the actual front brake hose differences, but snag it anyway. Spares are always good

For the rear, no knuckle change is required, this is a good thing.

-But a loaded set of rear calipers, they will come with brackets

-Buy new rotors

-You need the rear hoses from the 94+ donor or buy them new. Some slight modification is required to use the original hoses, and the new ones more than likely need a bit of persuasion on the bracket where the hose meets the metal line. Not a difficult thing.

-Install the new calipers/brackets/rotors/pad/hoses. Of you need to bend a steel brake hose a bit or the brake hose bracket, do it so nothing rubs

-Bleed all the brakes, dont let the master cylinder or abs unit go dry from brake fluid, because the abs has a special bleeding procedure if it gets air in it!!!

Now test drive, making sure you didnt undertorque a bolt, and enjoy your slightly less crappy 1st gen W brakes

Sooo, cliff notes on parts..

Front knuckle/strut assy with brakes and hose(even though the hose should be the same)

Rear calipers, brackets, rotors, hoses (if you dont wanna mod the existing one with a careful bend)

I thought I had a write-up for the front brakes' date=' but can't find it.  For that, you're going to need 96+ front assemblies and rotors and pretty much that is it.  You reuse the calipers and rotors if they're still in good shape.  You might wanna replace the ball joints while you're at it.

ball joints were replaced when i bought it

you can use the OE brake hoses, no modification needed. I've been running the 94+ rears with the OE hoses for a long time now

yes, but if you're doing all this, i would recommend flushing the fluid and using Goodridge lines or if there's a Tubes 'n Hoses or something similar around you, they can make lines, too.
