9lumina6
It's tine to do a tune up to the Z-34 b4 the winter.....since its the only car im driving now...cause the GTP is put away already. And i want to make sure the Z-34 is in tip top shape for the winter. I am goind to need to do plugs and wires.....but i was thinking of maybe doing some good ones....and put a 180 T-stat in it so it runs a little better. My question is..... what plugs do ya'll run in yer LQ1 motors. Can I put NGK TR-55's in it?
trbo31
yeah I've had the best luck with ngk v-powers in all my LQ1's and others..

Night Fury
AC Delco, AC Delco, AC Delco!
spiderw31
Just like everyone has said, AC Delco is the way to go. Either the standard resistor plugs, or the rapidfires.
Euro
AC Delco IMO. And I'd keep the stock thermo in for the winter time.
5speedz34
Ya don't mess with the t-stat. As for plugs Delco or NGK both are good. Since it's just a daily I would go with stock.
trbo31
well after running a jacobs hei system on my LQ1 the "ac" plugs fowled bad within 100 miles--the v-powers or accel plugs were the only ones that lasted -------just as listed stock is for stock!! There's no reason to run the HEI system either.. the stock ignition system is more than enough. Regular AC-Delcos or Rapidfires are the best things for these motors. trbo31
oh i'm not telling you to run hei but when highly modded it needs it..for the price ngk is a better plug.

trbo31
well as usual were getting off topic the origional ? was he wanted to run something better in his car that stock stuff he was on the right track with ngk's I actualy have real world proff that ngk's worked better in my car under extreme conditions so there for they must be better for only $2.50 a peice but it s seems as usual we run into people being counter productive---also in response to the wires I went with accel wires in my car also they ran about $75 for the set. if someone wants a list of my mods--on my old car witch had a lot done for a four door that ran a 12.7 1/4 mile at us 131 dragway in 2005. than lets start a new topic............ 5speedz34
I've always heard good things about NGK's in 3.4's.
9lumina6
I've always heard good things about NGK's in 3.4's. I've been leaning towards some TR-55's in the Z-34.......cause i have TR-6's in the GTP and they are great plugs in that car.
