Easy question for 98 Lumina

Hey quick question, What would be the easiest way to take the back carpet (where the 6X9 speakers are) off and to see if i have the keyless reciever in the car? I have been meaning to look under that cloth carpet covering the back speakers but didnt know how to go about it without ripping something up.

Thanks in advance.

it would be easier to open the trunk and look from that way instead of taking all that off.

I did look under there in the trunk, But it being dark and with a flashlight i still didnt think i could see it or even confirm that i might have one up there. I mean it should be sitting between the 6X9's right? So i thought i could pull the carpet and at least see if there was one. I can't fit my hand in between the brace where the rear speakers sit to feel if there is something there.

well the best way is to look for a single black wire near the antenna in the rear i believe if the design did not change. Very few luminas got the feature though. You can also check your RPO codes. To pull the rear carpet i usually pull the back or the back seat and pull the 2 rear window trims and it comes right off

definately check the rpo codes. im not sure what the code is. when you open the trunk up look on the lid and you will see a list of all the options the car came with.

i also have a 98 lumina. you should post up some pics of your lumi.

or just call a dealer, give them your VIN, and have them tell you if your car came equipped with it or not.
