My ? is...with the sensor bolted to the IAC housing, unplugged and off the car, how close should the valve be to the opening it seats in. Mine isn't close at all. After a battery change it didn't want to re-learn. The old battery just crapped out instantly. It was 5 yrs old and overdue. As soon as the motor would warm up (in drive, brake on) it would start to huff, 400 to 1000rpm until it would die. Had to shift into neutral to keep running. It didn't get better with time. It was fine before the battery change. When does the spring loaded valve seat into the opening, at throttle? or idle? IAC is apart as I type.
