rockfangd
Hi everyone. I am working on a 1997 pontiac GP GT, 3800 v6. For some reason the ABS, Trac off, and check tire pressure lights all started coming on last week out of the blue. As soon as you turn the car on the lights all come on. I tried disconnecting the battery for an hour and as soon as i turned the key on they came on. A few things i have done is check all of the fuses behind the glove compartment. (2 fuses, abs ign and abs) When i checked the abs fuse it didnt appear to have power but the fuse was not blown so i tried running a fused jumper to the fused side of the abs fuse and it made no difference. I also checked all of the wires that go to the wheels, and replaced the wire at the LF wheel because i managed to nick the wire when i was doing the control arm last month. Unfortunately i do not have a scantool for the abs on this car and he cannot afford to take it to a local garage. Thanks to all in advance
Crazy K
probable bad sensor? is the check pressure reading based on the abs system?
BXX
probable bad sensor? is the check pressure reading based on the abs system? prolly needs a new hub assy... yeah, the tpms sysytem bases itself and cluculations off of wheel speed.. you still need to have the system scanned checked out.. you could have a wiring issue as well, or een a BCM problem.. rockfangd
possibly. I hate diagnosing abs problems mainly because my scantool doesnt have a cartridge for ABS. I always thought that when it is a bearing problem that it doesnt come on until the vehicle has been driven, or can they short out in the bearing and make the lights stay on constant.
