Where is the reverse light switch on a 284?

I need a new reverse light switch for my 88 Fiero GT with a 282.

 

 

It is discontinued by GM and seemingly all aftermarket suppliers.

 

I have a 284 sitting in my garage but I can't seem to find the location of the reverse light switch on it.

 

So my question would be where is the reverse light switch located on a 284?

 

and is it compatable with a 282?

I want to say its in the switch on top of the transmission. The big main plug I want to say its incorporated in there. Other than that, I doubt they are the same.

I don't think they are either. Isn't the 282 switch on the shifter and not in the trans?

 

It's on top of the trans on a 284...The length of wire that screws in on top.

having 2 282s sitting out... it is on top, not far from the shifter.

Its on the top of the trans on a 282 I know that.

Essentially the same spot on a 284 but I doubt its the same.
