89SupremeCutty Posted September 27, 2008 Report Share Posted September 27, 2008 well i found out that my LIM took a crap on me. i took the car to the shop on thursday to have a gas tank, egr valve and nys inspection done to the car. (gas tank and egr was throwing the ses light on and it has to be off to pass nys inspection) they ran into some problem thursday and didn't finish the car, which was ok cause i had my dads sonoma to drive, which also gave me problems that day. well friday i found out that they replaced the egr valve and when they took it off the manifold, some coolant came out of it. which meant that the LIM blew. that would explain the slight hesitation, rough idle, no power when floored sometimes and somewhat hard starting every once in a while. while i don't have the car back yet, cause im going to get it sometime around noon, i gotta take it back for them to finish the inspection and i think gas tank. they said that it's good to drive for the weekend which is good cause im sick of driving my dads sonoma which couldn't get out of its own way. i never would have thought that the LIM would have caused all that. i thought my plugs or wires were crap. there was hardly any loss of coolant from what i can tell cause i check my fluids weekly. the resivior was at the level it should have been and the radiator was full. Venom Posted September 27, 2008 Report Share Posted September 27, 2008 Ive got the same crappy running problem and my coolant has been disappearing also, but I dont see any in my oil so I was gonna swap the whole top end (heads, LIM, UIM) from my 3400 and see what I discover when I take it all apart.
