waddlemasta
Ok so I have the car running without misfiring now but heres the new problem. When I acellerate it has no power. Sounds like its sucking in huge amounts of air and getting no fuel to back it up. Then when I go to slow down the RPM's jump up and down and then it finally settles. So I'm thinking Throttle Position Sensor. It has no CEL light on either. Would this make sense? My buddies cavalier did this same thing and turned out that was what it was. Oh yeah 3.1 MPFI
waddlemasta
Nobody not anyone... whats up with these boards?? When I had my Turbo Prix and I had a question on here I used to get a million responses with advice. Now two questions and nobody on either topic besides saying its a 3.1 thats what they do. Addicted To Boost
Verify that you are getting spark at ALL cylinders and that you have proper fuel pressure at the fuel rail, then we might have a better idea of what we are dealing with here. waddlemasta
Motor is fine everything checks out turns out the trans is slipping in the higher revs. I was told by a mechanic tonight to check the vacumn lines that go to the trans since the fluid levels and color are ok. 89GP_SE
My car just did this last week, check your fuel pressure, should be between 35 and 45 PSI. With the vacuum line off the Fuel Pressure Regulator it should spike to 50 PSI
waddlemasta
I'll have to see if I can get it checked. Does anyone know where I can get a complete vacuum hose diagram on the net at? Or does anyone have a pic of the whole thing. I've found some broken ones tonight looking at the car and would like to go through and take care of them all but need a diagram..... for all I know this could be the problem somewhere a bad line. waddlemasta
Well I finally broke down and took in to the local mechanic. He says that under load heavy I'm just dumping fuel into the cylinders. He said trans is fine except for that it shifts super hard when under a heavy load which could be a result of whatever is causing the heavy fuel load. He wouldn't go into the motor for anything without charging me more so I just took her home. He said not to make you sound like a dumbass but you just bought this car have you checked to see if the air filter is clogged to shit. ha ha I said nope but I'm about to go do that now.
