jmoore4294
So lately my idle has been acting up. On a cold start or really any start, the RPM shoots to 2k and sits there for about 5 sec. As soon as the idle smooths out to 1k, it is very erratic sputtering from 500 to 1k. Every now and then I get a smooth non erratic idle. But that only happens once every full moon. It is due for a tune up. Guess I'll start there. Anything I should pay extra attention to? So far I have plugs, wires, fuel and air filter, possibly coils, IAC valve, pcv valve. Also, from your guys' experience, what would be the easiest way to get to the rear spark plugs? Andrew
i would ohm out the injectors and make sure they are all kosher. you'll need to pull the plenum to do so on the rear injectors. with that removed, it is also the time to replace the rear plugs. remove the dogbone and rock the engine forward a little bit to give a little more clearance to the rear. jmoore4294
Just remove the plenum? Shouldn't be hard. What ohm rating is considered normal for the injectors?

ManicMechanic
I can remove the plenum on my 3.4 in less than 10 minutes...LOL! Sounds like what mine is doing as well and it's had a full tune up. I'm going to ohm the injectors tomorrow or the weekend and see if that's the problem. The plenum reeks of gas...Perhaps my FPR went bad?
95 vert
I've found on several occasions the idle problems usually end up being a vacuum leak and/or leak between the MAF and throttle body.
